  • The old Pro40 competition was replaced in 2010 by the new CB40 League currently sponsored by Clydesdale Bank. The CB40 League comprises the 18 first-class counties plus Scotland, Netherlands (in place of Ireland who declined owing to growing international commitments) and the Unicorns (contractless county players who compete unpaid).

    The CB40 League format comprises three groups of seven allocated randomly. The top team in each group plus the second best across all three groups progress to the semi-final knockout stage.

    During last year's CB40 League tournament Jacques Rudolph from Yorkshire hit the most runs (a total of 861) and Alphonso Thomas from Somerset took the most wickets (27).
