Snooker World Cup Betting Information

  • The Snooker World Cup is an annual invitational tournament where countries comprising teams of two players contest the event. 22 teams will participate in this year's revived tournament at the World Trade Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Snooker World Cup has been staged under various guises since 1979 when it was branded the World Challenge Cup. In 1981 it was renamed to the World Team Classic and eventually beacame the World Cup in 1984. However the event was terminated after the 1990 tournament until a brief revival for one year only in 1996. 1999 saw it once again renamed, this time to the Nations Cup, and it ran until 2001 where plans were underway to revert it to the Snooker World Cup only for ITV to discontinue their coverage and the tournament was abandoned. 2011 finally sees the event taking place once again.

Steve Davis is the most successful player having won four titles for England under the various tournament names. With the event rarely contested over the last couple of decades, there's not much relevant history to go on.
